Science Grade 5
In this course, we will be looking at the different types of body systems that are contained in each individual, the brain will also be discussed as it relates to various functions of the human body. We will also look at different types of mixtures and simple machines to help students discover the joy of science. The following is from the Science Curriculum.

Social Studies Grade 5
In this course, we will be looking at the various forms in which Canada has been shaped by history. We will see immigration, human rights, levels of government and many more topics. The following is from the curriculum of Social Studies.

- the changing nature of Canadian immigration over time
- past discriminatory government policies and actions, such as the Head Tax, the Komagata Maru incident, residential schools, and internments

- levels of government (First Peoples, federal, provincial, and municipal), their main functions, and sources of funding
- participation and representation in Canada’s system of government
- resources and economic development in different regions of Canada
- First Peoples land ownership and use (Residential School Unit on ownership of the land and how they learned in the past)
French Immersion Reading and Writing Grade 5
Students will learn to develop different kinds of language development during French learning activities but it is also integrated in both the Science and Social Studies Curriculum. The following is from the French Immersion Curriculum:
